1000Mbps refers to the maximum negotiated network-link rate, not a guaranteed internet speed. Actual performance depends on the computer, USB port, Ethernet cable, router or switch, network traffic, drivers and internet plan.
USB 3.0 Data Transfer up to 5Gbps
The three USB 3.0 ports support theoretical data rates up to 5Gbps, making the hub suitable for transferring documents, photographs, videos and other files with compatible USB storage devices.
The USB ports are backward compatible with USB 2.0 and USB 1.1 devices, with operation limited to the speed supported by the connected device and host computer.
The USB ports, Ethernet function and upstream USB-A connection share the available host bandwidth. Individual devices do not each receive a dedicated 5Gbps connection, and real-world speeds will be lower.
AX88179A Ethernet Controller
The current UGREEN India product artwork identifies an AX88179A Ethernet controller, designed to manage the USB-to-Gigabit-Ethernet connection and provide broad operating-system support.
Many modern operating systems recognise the adapter automatically. Older or particular operating-system versions may require a compatible network driver.

A Wired Option for Compatible Gaming Setups
A wired network can help avoid problems caused by weak Wi-Fi coverage or wireless congestion. Compatibility depends on whether the console, dock or host device supports a USB Ethernet adapter.
For Nintendo Switch or Switch OLED, connect through a compatible dock or USB-A host connection. Functionality may be limited to Ethernet depending on the console, dock and system software. This USB-A model does not connect directly to the USB-C port of a Switch Lite.
Optional 5V Auxiliary Power
The hub normally receives operating power through the computer’s USB-A port. When using power-demanding USB devices, its auxiliary DC input can accept a compatible 5V power supply to provide additional power to connected peripherals.

Important Usage Information
The three USB-A ports are primarily intended for data and peripherals. They are not USB Power Delivery ports and are not designed to fast-charge laptops.
Multiple hard drives or high-power accessories may exceed the power available from the host USB port. Use suitable auxiliary power where required.
The adapter adds an Ethernet interface but does not generate internet access, distribute Wi-Fi or replace a router, modem or network subscription.
The RJ45 port is for network data. The product is not specified to receive or supply Power over Ethernet.

Frequently Asked Questions
Is this a USB-A or USB-C hub?
This model connects to the host computer through an integrated USB-A 3.0 male plug. It does not connect directly to a USB-C-only laptop without a separate compatible adapter.
Does it provide Gigabit Ethernet?
Yes. The RJ45 port supports 10/100/1000Mbps network-link modes. A USB 3.0 host port, Cat5e or higher cable, Gigabit router or switch and suitable network configuration are required for a Gigabit connection.
Will my internet speed become 1000Mbps?
Not necessarily. 1000Mbps is the maximum Ethernet link rate. Internet speed remains limited by the broadband plan, router, network traffic, server, USB connection and computer performance.
Does each USB port provide 5Gbps?
The three USB ports and Ethernet function share the bandwidth of the single upstream USB 3.0 connection. Up to 5Gbps is a theoretical interface rate, not a dedicated speed for each port.
Can the USB ports charge my devices?
They can provide standard USB power within the available power budget, but they are primarily data ports and do not support USB Power Delivery or guaranteed fast charging.
What is the DC power input used for?
The optional 5V DC input can provide additional power to connected USB peripherals when the computer’s USB port cannot supply enough power. It does not charge the host laptop.
Is the 5V power supply included?
No. The external power supply and cable are not included. Verify the required voltage, polarity and connector dimensions before connecting a separately purchased supply.
Does the adapter need a driver?

Will it work with a modern MacBook?
