Privacy policy
Last updated: 22 October 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how Sophus Technosol Private Limited, the National Distributor of UGREEN products in India and the operator of www.ugreenindia.com ("Ugreen India", "we", "us", "our"), collects, uses, shares and protects your personal data when you visit the Site, buy from us, register a return or warranty claim, or contact us (together, the "Services").
We are the Data Fiduciary for your personal data under India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 and the Digital Personal Data Protection Rules, 2025 (together, the "DPDP law"). We also follow the Information Technology Act, 2000 and the rules made under it. "You" means the person whose data it is (the Data Principal).
1. Summary
- We collect only what we need to sell, deliver, support and warranty your products, and to run the Site securely.
- We use your data for your order on the basis of your request, and for marketing only if you agree. You can withdraw that agreement at any time, as easily as you gave it.
- We share data only with service providers who work for us (payment, delivery, hosting, support, analytics, messaging) and where the law requires it. We do not sell your personal data.
- You can ask to see, correct, update or erase your data, nominate someone to act for you, and complain to us or to the Data Protection Board of India.
- Contact: info@ugreenindia.com or book a call back at ugreenindia.com/pages/contact.
2. What personal data we collect
Data you give us
- Contact details: name, phone number, email address, billing and delivery address, and GSTIN if you ask for a GST invoice.
- Order details: products bought, prices, invoice and payment confirmation. We do not see or store your full card, UPI or bank details; these are handled by our payment partners.
- Account details: login email or phone and password, if you create an account.
- Returns, warranty and support: claim and order numbers, description of the problem, photos or videos you send, pickup address, and the messages you send us by email, WhatsApp, chat or phone.
- Reviews you post, and your marketing choices.
Data collected automatically
- Device and usage data: IP address, approximate location from the IP address, browser and device type, pages viewed, items added to cart, and how you came to the Site.
- Cookies and similar tools (see section 6), including analytics tools that may record how pages are used (clicks, scrolls and page interactions) to help us fix problems with the Site. Payment details are entered on our payment partners' pages and are not recorded by these tools.
Data from others
- Payment partners confirm whether a payment succeeded; courier partners send delivery status; marketplaces or advertising platforms may tell us how you reached us.
You may choose not to give some data, but we may then be unable to process your order, return or claim.
3. Why we use it and on what basis
| Purpose | Basis under the DPDP law |
|---|---|
| Taking and delivering your order, invoicing, payment, cancellations, returns, refunds and warranty service | Your request, which you make by placing the order or claim (and your consent where needed) |
| Order, delivery and service messages by SMS, email or WhatsApp | Your request for the order or service |
| Keeping tax, accounting and invoice records (GST and income-tax laws) | Legal obligation |
| Preventing fraud, misuse and security incidents | Legitimate use permitted by law |
| Improving the Site and understanding how it is used (analytics) | Your consent |
| Offers and newsletters by email, SMS or WhatsApp, and personalised advertising | Your consent, which you can withdraw at any time |
We use your data only for the purposes listed here. If we want to use it for a new purpose, we will tell you and, where required, ask for your consent first.
4. Consent and how to withdraw it
Where we rely on consent, we ask for it clearly and separately for each purpose. You can withdraw consent at any time:
- Email: use the "unsubscribe" link in any marketing email.
- SMS or WhatsApp: reply STOP to any message from us.
- Anything else: email info@ugreenindia.com with the subject "Withdraw consent".
Withdrawing consent does not affect processing done before you withdrew it, and does not stop messages we must send about an order you placed. Once you withdraw, we and our service providers stop processing that data for that purpose within a reasonable time, unless the law requires us to keep it. You may also give, manage or withdraw consent through a Consent Manager registered with the Data Protection Board of India, once such services are available.
5. Who we share it with
We share personal data only as needed for the purposes above, with:
- Service providers (Data Processors) who act on our instructions under contract: our e-commerce platform and hosting (Shopify); payment and EMI partners (such as Razorpay and Snapmint); courier and logistics partners (such as Shiprocket, Blue Dart and Delhivery) and delivery tracking; customer support, email, SMS and WhatsApp messaging tools; reviews; analytics; and our order-management and accounting systems.
- Advertising platforms such as Google and Meta, only where you have consented to personalised advertising.
- UGREEN (the brand owner), only where needed to handle a warranty claim for your product.
- Government authorities, courts or regulators where the law requires it.
- A buyer or successor of our business, if the business is sold or merged, under the same protections.
We do not sell your personal data.
6. Cookies
We use essential cookies that the Site needs to work (for example, your cart and checkout). With your consent we also use analytics and advertising cookies and pixels. You can refuse or delete non-essential cookies through the cookie banner, where shown, or your browser settings. Blocking essential cookies may stop parts of the Site from working. For the cookies our platform uses, see shopify.com/legal/cookies.
7. How long we keep it
- Order, invoice and payment records: for as long as Indian tax and company laws require (generally 8 years).
- Warranty and claim records: for the warranty period of the product plus the time needed to settle any dispute.
- Account data: while your account is active. If you do not use your account for a long period, we may contact you and then delete it.
- Marketing data: until you withdraw consent.
- Security and access logs: for at least one year, as required by the DPDP Rules.
When data is no longer needed and the law does not require us to keep it, we erase it and ask our service providers to do the same.
8. Your rights
Under the DPDP law you have the right to:
- Access: a summary of the personal data we hold about you, what we do with it, and who we have shared it with.
- Correction, completion and updating of inaccurate or incomplete data.
- Erasure of data we no longer need, unless the law requires us to keep it (for example, invoices).
- Withdraw consent at any time (section 4).
- Grievance redressal: complain to us and receive a response (section 10).
- Nominate another person to exercise these rights for you in case of your death or incapacity.
To use any right, email info@ugreenindia.com from the email address linked to your order or account. We may ask you to confirm your identity before acting. We respond within the time set by law and aim to do so within 30 days.
As a Data Principal you also have duties under the law: please give us accurate information, do not impersonate anyone, and do not file false or frivolous complaints.
9. Security and data breaches
We protect personal data with reasonable security measures, including encrypted (HTTPS) connections, access controls limited to staff who need the data, and service providers bound by contract to protect it. No system is completely secure. If a personal data breach occurs, we will inform the Data Protection Board of India and the affected people without delay, as the DPDP law requires, explaining what happened, the likely impact and the steps we are taking.
10. Questions and complaints
For any question, request or complaint about your personal data, contact us at info@ugreenindia.com or book a call back at ugreenindia.com/pages/contact (Monday to Saturday, 10:30 to 18:00 IST), or write to Sophus Technosol Private Limited, Durga Complex, 2nd Floor, #38/1, 3rd Cross, Sahakarnagar G Block, Bengaluru 560092, Karnataka, India. The details of our Grievance Officer are given in our Terms of Service.
We acknowledge complaints within 48 hours and aim to resolve them within one month. If you are not satisfied with our response, you may complain to the Data Protection Board of India.
11. Children
Our Services are meant for adults. Under the DPDP law, a child is anyone under 18. We do not knowingly collect personal data of children without verifiable consent from a parent or lawful guardian, and we do not track children or show them targeted advertising. If you believe a child has given us personal data, contact us and we will delete it.
12. Data stored outside India
Some of our service providers, including our e-commerce platform, may store or process data on servers outside India. Where this happens, we transfer data only as permitted by the DPDP law and any restrictions notified by the Government of India, and our providers are required to protect it.
13. Links to other websites
The Site may link to other websites, such as social media pages, payment pages or courier tracking pages. Their privacy practices are their own; please read their policies.
14. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. We will post the new version here with a new "Last updated" date and, where the change is significant, tell you by email or on the Site.
