Warnings and limitations
Data first: an enclosure can expose a drive; it cannot guarantee the integrity of the data already on it. Keep independent backups before migration, repartitioning or firmware work.
Power: bus power depends on the host. If detection resets under load, remove unpowered hubs and use the supplied cable on a stronger direct port.
Heat: warmth can be normal, especially with NVMe. Stop use for smoke, burning smell, deformation, liquid ingress, repeated drop-outs or abnormal mechanical HDD sounds.
Handling: protect bare drives from electrostatic discharge; hold an SSD by its edges, avoid touching gold contacts and never move a spinning 3.5-inch HDD roughly.
Removal: wait for all writes, eject in the OS, allow the activity indicator to settle, then disconnect. Auto-sleep is not a substitute for safe removal.
Package contents
Verified pictured items: 1 × UGREEN 15813 enclosure, 1 × USB-C-to-USB-C cable and 1 × USB-C-to-USB-A cable; SSD is not included. Use the supplied thermal interface material and installation hardware from the sealed box
No host computer, phone, tablet, console, TV, router, SSD/HDD, cloning software or data-recovery service is included unless explicitly named above.
Research reconciliation: Exact UGREEN pages and exact live gallery confirm dual NVMe/SATA protocol, all four lengths, two host cables, RTL9210B and separate 10Gbps NVMe/6Gbps SATA ceilings. Copy rejects the common mistake that M.2, mSATA and NVMe are interchangeable names.
Product-specific FAQ
What is UGREEN 15813 made to do?
Houses one compatible M.2 PCIe NVMe or M.2 SATA SSD and connects it to USB-C or USB-A through a dual-protocol bridge. It is an enclosure/bridge, not a drive; storage media is not included.
Which drives fit?
M.2 PCIe NVMe M-key/B+M-key or M.2 SATA B-key/B+M-key SSD, sizes 2230/2242/2260/2280. Not for mSATA, 2.5-inch SATA, 3.5-inch SATA or other PCIe cards; key shape alone is not enough—confirm the SSD protocol.
Does it support both SATA and NVMe?
Yes, this exact model supports one compatible M.2 NVMe or M.2 SATA SSD. It still does not support mSATA.
What is the real maximum speed?
NVMe mode is limited by the 10Gbps USB link; SATA mode is limited by SATA III’s 6Gbps bus. Neither number is guaranteed file throughput, and real performance varies with drive, cache, host, cable, file sizes and temperature. Link-rate labels are theoretical and should not be read as a guaranteed benchmark.
What capacity is supported?
Up to 8TB on the current exact UGREEN UK/US source; older regional pages list lower limits, so check very-high-capacity drive firmware if mission-critical. Capacity support does not guarantee that every TV, router, console or old operating system can address or format the same size.
Will a new drive appear immediately?
The enclosure can be detected while a blank drive still has no volume. Use the correct disk utility to initialise, partition and format a new drive. Double-check the disk identity because formatting destroys existing data.
Can it clone or migrate my system?
It provides external access to the installed drive but does not perform standalone cloning. Use reliable cloning/backup software, confirm the target has sufficient usable capacity, keep the original untouched until verification and handle encrypted/boot volumes according to the OS vendor’s guidance.
Can I use it with a console, TV or router?
Possibly: Windows, macOS, Linux, Android and iOS/USB-C systems are listed; console support depends on format and policy. The host may require a specific file system, partition scheme, capacity, power budget or dedicated “extended storage” format. Those rules can erase the drive and are controlled by the host, not by the enclosure.
Why is the drive not detected?
Power down and reseat the drive, confirm its protocol/form factor, try the supplied cable directly on another suitable host port, and inspect Disk Management/Disk Utility rather than only the file browser. Do not format an unknown drive with valuable data.
Is warmth normal, and how should I disconnect?
NVMe SSDs and aluminum housings can become warm during sustained transfers. Keep vents and the thermal path clear, allow airflow, stop if there is an abnormal smell or repeated disconnect, then eject the volume and wait for activity to finish before unplugging.

Exact-model check before ordering
Match SKU 15813, the supported drive protocol/form factor, capacity guidance, supplied cable and the host’s data capability. Similar-looking UGREEN enclosures can differ in SATA versus NVMe, USB-A versus USB-C, power requirements and speed ceilings.
