A Practical Upgrade for Wired Networking
Use UGREEN 30771 to replace a damaged onboard Ethernet port, add a second network connection, or give an older compatible desktop access to a Gigabit Ethernet network. A wired connection can provide consistent performance for large file transfers, office networks, gaming, video calls, streaming and local server access.

What Does 10/100/1000Mbps Mean?
The network card supports three standard Ethernet link speeds and selects the best mutually supported speed automatically:
- 10Mbps: compatibility with older Ethernet equipment.
- 100Mbps: Fast Ethernet connections.
- 1000Mbps: Gigabit Ethernet, providing a theoretical link rate of up to 1Gbps.
About the “2000Mbps total” specification: in full-duplex operation, the card can theoretically transmit at up to 1000Mbps while receiving at up to 1000Mbps at the same time. This is an aggregate bidirectional figure and does not mean a 2Gbps single-direction internet connection.
What You Need for a Gigabit Connection
To establish a 1000Mbps Ethernet link, every important part of the connection must support Gigabit Ethernet.
The connected LAN port must support 1000Mbps.
Use a correctly terminated Ethernet cable with all four wire pairs connected.
Install the appropriate Windows driver and keep speed negotiation enabled.
Internet speed remains limited by your broadband plan, router, server and network conditions.

PCI Express Slot Compatibility
UGREEN 30771 uses a PCIe x1 connector. An x1 card can normally be installed in a physically longer PCIe slot, provided the slot is available and enabled by the motherboard.
Important: compatible with PCI Express slots only. It cannot be installed in a legacy PCI slot.

Installation Guide
- Download the driver first. Save the correct driver locally before disconnecting or opening the PC.
- Shut the computer down. Switch off and unplug the desktop from mains power. Do not install the card while the computer is running.
- Take anti-static precautions. Open the case carefully and avoid touching the card’s contacts or components unnecessarily.
- Select the correct bracket. Use the standard or low-profile bracket according to your computer case.
- Locate an available PCIe slot. The x1 card may fit a compatible x1, x4, x8 or x16 slot. Do not force it into a legacy PCI slot.
- Insert and secure the card. Seat it evenly in the slot and secure the bracket using the case screw or retention mechanism.
- Reconnect and start the PC. Connect your Ethernet cable after the case is safely closed.
- Install or update the driver. Confirm that the Realtek PCIe Ethernet controller appears correctly under Network Adapters in Windows Device Manager.
If your particular installation or card revision requires an auxiliary power connection, follow the supplied instructions exactly. Use only the specified 5V connection, never connect 12V, and never insert a SATA power connector in the reverse direction.

Is this card suitable for a laptop?
No. This is an internal PCIe expansion card intended primarily for desktop PCs, workstations and servers with an accessible PCIe slot.
Can I install it in a PCIe x16 slot?
Normally, yes. A PCIe x1 card can fit in a compatible longer PCIe slot, including x4, x8 or x16. Check your motherboard manual because some slots may be disabled or share lanes with other devices.
Will it fit an older PCI slot?
No. PCI and PCI Express are different interfaces. UGREEN 30771 requires a PCI Express slot.
Does it support Windows 11?
Yes, UGREEN’s current regional product information lists Windows 11 support. Install the appropriate current driver for your Windows edition and system architecture.
Does it work with Linux or macOS?
No. This model is officially listed as not supporting Linux or macOS.
Is a driver required?
A driver may be installed automatically by some Windows versions, but UGREEN recommends downloading the correct driver before using the card. Save it locally before installation if the computer has no other network connection.
Will this make my internet faster?
It can remove a 10/100Mbps network-port bottleneck when the rest of your network supports Gigabit Ethernet. It cannot make your internet faster than your broadband plan, router, cable, server or network conditions allow.
Does “2000Mbps total” mean 2Gbps internet?
No. It refers to simultaneous full-duplex transmission: up to 1000Mbps transmitting and up to 1000Mbps receiving. The maximum negotiated Ethernet link speed in one direction is 1000Mbps.
Which Ethernet cable should I use?
Use a properly terminated Cat5e or better Ethernet cable for a Gigabit connection. Your router or switch port must also support Gigabit Ethernet.
Does it include a low-profile bracket?
Yes. An additional approximately 8cm low-profile bracket is supplied for compatible compact computer cases.
Can it replace a damaged motherboard Ethernet port?
Yes, provided the desktop has an available compatible PCIe slot and runs a supported Windows operating system.
Can I use it as a second network port?
Yes. It can add a second RJ45 connection for compatible workstation, server, testing, redundancy or specialised network configurations. Network bridging and advanced routing require suitable Windows configuration.
Does it support Wake-on-LAN?
Yes. Wake-on-LAN also needs support and correct settings in the motherboard, BIOS/UEFI, Windows driver and network environment.
