  • Speed is set by the slowest port in the link; a 1Gbps port stays at 1Gbps with a Cat 7 cable.
  • A laptop without Ethernet needs a USB or USB-C Ethernet adapter.

Setup and everyday use

  1. Plan the route along a wall, under a rug or behind furniture, leaving some slack at each end.
  2. Plug one RJ45 connector into the router or switch until the clip clicks, and the other into your device.
  3. Check the link lights or network settings; the speed negotiates automatically.
  4. Lay the flat cable without sharp creases or twists.
  5. To unplug, press the clip and pull the connector, not the cable.

Will it work with my Gigabit router?
Yes. It fits standard RJ45 ports, and the link runs at the router port speed, typically 1Gbps.
Is a flat cable as good as a round one?
For short home and office runs, a flat shielded cable works well and is easier to hide. For long runs or installation inside walls, a round cable is usually preferred.
Can I put it under a carpet?

What do I need for 10Gbps?
Both ends of the link, and any switch in between, need 10Gbps ports. Storage and computer performance also affect transfer speeds.
Why does the link show 100Mbps?
Check both ports support Gigabit or faster, reseat the plugs and try another port. A crushed or sharply creased cable can also cause a slower link.
Does it work with a PS5 or smart TV?
Yes, if the device has an Ethernet port. Select the wired network option in the device settings.
