Product highlights
0.5m. Format and length for planning the physical connection.
Up to 10Gbps. Product capability, subject to the complete host or network path.
Cat7 · F/FTP. The defining connector, protocol or construction detail for this SKU.
One clear job. Creates one passive 0.5m point-to-point Ethernet patch link.
No hidden upgrade. It does not add an Ethernet port to a device that lacks RJ45; use the correct USB or dock adapter for that job.
Maximum versus actual: Listed ceiling: Up to 10Gbps with 600MHz. This is the cable capability, not guaranteed file-transfer, game, Wi-Fi or internet speed. The slowest network port, adapter, switch, router, cable segment, connector or service controls real throughput.
Choose the right connection
Port and direction check
2 × shielded RJ45 male plugs (8P8C), straight-through patch-cable use
Ethernet data is electrically bidirectional. Either identical RJ45 male plug can connect to the network side or endpoint side; what matters is using LAN-capable RJ45 ports rather than telephone, console or management-only sockets.
Inspect port labels and connector shapes under good light before routing. A physically similar socket may serve telephone, console, management, USB or power rather than the network job described here.
Connection rule: never force a plug and never assume an adapter preserves the same protocol, speed or driver support.
Network performance
Speed, bandwidth and negotiation
Listed ceiling: Up to 10Gbps with 600MHz. This is the cable capability, not guaranteed file-transfer, game, Wi-Fi or internet speed. The slowest network port, adapter, switch, router, cable segment, connector or service controls real throughput.
A maximum link rate is not the same as measured payload throughput. Protocol overhead, storage speed, CPU load, router processing, remote servers and internet service can all reduce the number shown by an application.
For a useful test, first confirm the negotiated link rate, then run a local transfer between capable devices before testing a public speed service.
Use scenarios
Where it fits
Router or gateway to wired endpoint. Use the 0.5m cable between a standard RJ45 LAN port and a nearby computer, television, console or other Ethernet endpoint.
Router to switch or access point. Create a short router-to-switch, patch-panel, NAS or workstation links where excess cable would create clutter; confirm both ports support the intended negotiated speed.
Workstation or NAS connection. Connect a desktop, server or network-attached storage device for local transfers that do not depend on Wi-Fi quality.
Console or media device. Use a wired RJ45 connection for a compatible PlayStation, Xbox, Nintendo Switch dock, smart television or media box; application latency still depends on the network path.
Tidy equipment-area patching. Use the stated length to avoid large coils while retaining enough slack that neither connector carries tension.
Scenario boundary: every example assumes the actual ports, protocol, operating system and network equipment support the requested use.
Setup and usability guidance
A reliable first connection
Follow a controlled sequence so connector, network and software faults remain easy to isolate.
After setup: record the working port, negotiated speed or address configuration before adding more adapters, joins or software.
Confirm the label is UGREEN SKU 11229, the required reach is 0.5m, and both devices expose Ethernet-capable RJ45 ports.
Power and configure the router, switch or endpoint normally; the cable itself has no software setting.
Route the cable before insertion, preserving broad bends and keeping it clear of sharp edges, moving chair parts and heat.
Press each RJ45 plug straight into its port until the latch clicks; do not twist the connector.
Check the port LEDs or operating-system network status and confirm that the expected link speed has negotiated.
Run a local-network test before judging internet speed; a broadband plan or remote server may be the limiting factor.
If the link is stable, secure the route with wide, non-crushing cable management and leave strain-free slack at each end.

Provides a wired alternative to Wi-Fi without requiring a cable driver or separate power supply.
What this product does not do
Important exclusions
These exclusions prevent the most common wrong-product purchases and unsafe installations.
Choose another product when needed: use the correct active adapter, router, switch, repeater, installation-rated cable or managed service for functions outside this model’s role.
It does not add an Ethernet port to a device that lacks RJ45; use the correct USB or dock adapter for that job.
It does not increase a 100Mbps or 1Gbps port to 10Gbps and cannot make internet service faster than the subscribed connection.
It does not act as a router, switch, modem, repeater, Wi-Fi extender or network-security appliance.
It does not guarantee game ping, streaming quality, file-transfer rate or application performance.
It does not supply electrical power by itself, and no PoE class is promised on this page.
It does not have a published outdoor, burial, in-wall or public-space fire rating.
What to do
Best-practice checklist
Protect the connection and make later diagnosis straightforward.
A labelled, supported and tested connection is easier to maintain than one hidden immediately after purchase.
Measure the real route, including gentle bends and service slack, before selecting the cable length.
Match the speed goal to every network port and cable component in the channel.
Use the snagless guard to protect the latch and hold the connector housing when unplugging.
Keep the cable separated from concentrated heat, sharp metal edges and moving furniture parts.
Test local link speed and packet stability before concealing or securing the route.
Label both ends in shared desks, racks or media cabinets so the link can be traced later.
What not to do
Avoid these mistakes
Most failures come from wrong interfaces, unsupported claims, strain or uncontrolled channel changes.
Stop using the product if a connector, housing, jacket or lead is cracked, loose, contaminated, unusually hot or exposes conductive parts.
Do not force an RJ45 plug into a telephone jack or a differently keyed socket.
Do not staple, crush, knot, sharply fold or repeatedly roll over the cable.
Do not pull the cable by its jacket or allow its weight to hang from a port.
Do not assume the printed maximum is guaranteed internet speed or gaming latency.
Do not place the cable outdoors, underground or inside a wall without the required documented rating.
Do not claim a PoE wattage or class that is not specified for this SKU.
Warnings and limitations
Read before installation
The following limits remain important even when the connector appears to fit.
Permanent routes: test the complete real setup first and follow local electrical, building and workplace requirements.
The Up to 10Gbps ceiling requires compatible Ethernet ports, clean connector seating and a complete channel capable of that mode.
600MHz is a cabling bandwidth figure and must not be described as CPU clock speed, Wi-Fi frequency or internet throughput.
F/FTP shielding does not repair damaged conductors, poor terminations, ground problems or an incompatible port.
No outdoor, direct-burial, in-wall, plenum, LSZH or fire-resistance rating is stated for this product.
Stop using the cable if a latch, shield, jacket or strain relief is cracked, bent, unusually hot or exposes conductors.
A short cable still needs enough slack that moving equipment does not pull directly on either RJ45 port.

FAQs
Questions buyers ask.
What connectors does UGREEN 11229 use?
It uses 2 × shielded RJ45 male plugs (8P8C), straight-through patch-cable use. Both plugs are standard Ethernet connectors; do not confuse an RJ45 LAN port with a smaller telephone jack or a management-only socket.
What is the maximum listed network speed?
Up to 10Gbps is the cable ceiling. Achieving it requires compatible ports and a sound complete channel; real file-transfer and internet speed are normally lower.
What does 600MHz mean?
It is a cabling bandwidth figure used to describe signal handling, not an internet-speed promise, processor clock, Wi-Fi band or guaranteed application rate.
Can the cable upgrade a slower router, switch or computer port?
No. Ethernet auto-negotiates the highest common rate, so a 100Mbps or 1Gbps port continues to operate at its own ceiling.
Is the cable directional?
No. Ordinary copper Ethernet data is bidirectional, and either identical RJ45 plug can be placed at either end.
What shielding does this model use?
F/FTP is the precise construction used on this page. Broader STP wording is only a generic family description and does not replace the notation.
Will it work with Cat6, Cat5e or slower equipment?
Standard Ethernet is backward compatible. The connection negotiates the best common mode, and the complete channel performs only as well as its weakest component.
Can I use it for gaming or streaming?
Yes, with a compatible RJ45-equipped device. A cable can provide a wired path, but it cannot guarantee ping, frame rate, streaming quality or broadband speed.
Is a PoE power class guaranteed?
No PoE class or wattage is stated for this SKU, so this page does not promise a powered-device installation.
Can I install it outdoors, underground or inside a wall?
No outdoor, direct-burial, in-wall, plenum, LSZH or fire-resistance rating is stated. Use appropriately certified installation cable where required.
What should I try if the link is slow or unstable?
Reseat both plugs, test known-good ports, verify negotiated speed, try a second cable and run a local LAN test before judging internet performance.
