Product-specific FAQ
What exactly is UGREEN 70423?
A passive 24-port Cat6 UTP patch panel for terminating and organising permanent network runs in a standard 19-inch rack position.
What is included in the package?
1 × UGREEN 70423 patch panel, 1 × user manual, 1 × compact cable-preparation/termination tool, 4 mounting screw sets and 8 cable ties as listed. Exact gallery shows the accessories but the small yellow tool should not be confused with a full-size modular-plug crimper.
Which cables, modules or devices are compatible?
A standard 19-inch rack/cabinet with 1U space, compatible Cat6 UTP permanent cable, suitable patch leads and T568A/B installation practice. Rack nuts and mounting method must match the actual rack rails.
Does it guarantee the advertised network speed?
Cat6 performance depends on correct pair placement, minimal untwist, cable construction, patch leads, installation quality and test results. The panel is passive and has no switching bandwidth of its own. Test the complete channel rather than judging one component in isolation.
Can it be used in a PoE network?
The panel is passive. No explicit PoE class/current ceiling is verified for SKU 70423; PoE use requires a complete compliant copper channel, correct IDC terminations and thermal/bundle assessment.
Which tools are required?
Rear IDC termination requires the supplied compact preparation/termination tool or another compatible IDC tool as appropriate. Professional testing and rack tools are still required.
Does it split, switch, route or convert a network connection?
No. not an Ethernet switch, router, PoE injector, unmanaged hub, shielded grounding panel, wall faceplate or substitute for rack cable management and channel certification. Any active switching, routing, conversion or power function requires separate purpose-built equipment.
How should a finished installation be tested?
Start with a wire-map or continuity test that checks all required conductors and shield where applicable. Then connect known-good equipment, confirm negotiated link speed and observe errors under normal traffic.
Is it suitable for outdoor or mains-power installation?
No outdoor or ingress-protection rating is verified. This is a low-voltage networking accessory; it is not a mains device. Follow separation, fire, grounding and building rules.
What should I do if the link is intermittent?
Remove power where applicable, inspect for partial insertion, wrong colour order, excessive untwist, nicked conductors, poor strain relief or an incompatible cable/connector fit. Reterminate only with matched parts, then test again.
How is this exact SKU different from similar UGREEN products?
Exact media confirms 24 front ports, rear T568A/B IDC blocks, 1U rack ears, removable label cover, cable ties and the compact yellow preparation tool. The rack width is stated as standard 19-inch; questionable package-size data and unverified third-party test wording are not presented as product specifications.
