What is Network Attached Storage (NAS)?
Network Attached Storage (NAS) is a dedicated file storage device connected to a network that enables multiple users and devices to store, share and access files from a centralized location. It simplifies backups, media streaming, collaboration and remote access.
NAS offers centralized file management, redundancy options (like RAID), and apps for media streaming, backups and surveillance — suited for both home users and businesses.

Diverse app ecosystem
Install apps for media streaming, surveillance, backup, virtualization and more — expand features as you need them.

How does NAS work?
NAS connects to your local network (usually via Ethernet) and exposes folders over protocols like SMB/CIFS, NFS, FTP or WebDAV. Devices on the network (or remote devices via secure access) can mount these shares and read/write data as permitted. NAS supports RAID, snapshotting, scheduled backups and apps to extend functionality.
1. Connect to the network
Plug NAS into router and power on. Use the setup wizard to create users and shares.
2. Access & share
Map network drives from desktops or upload via mobile apps; set permissions for each user or group.
3. Backup & sync
Schedule backups, sync with cloud services or replicate to remote NAS for redundancy.
4. Scale as needed
Add drive capacity or attach expansion units to expand storage without downtime (model dependent).
Which NAS is better for you?
Compare models by capacity, number of bays, CPU performance and app support to match your use case — home media, SMB backup, or business storage.
