01 · Product introduction

Overview

UGREEN US135 10351 USB-A to USB-B Cable, 3m links a USB-A computer or host port to equipment with the standard square USB 2.0 Type-B device port. Typical categories include printers, scanners, fax devices, MIDI keyboards, digital pianos, DACs and audio interfaces.

The cable is passive and supports USB 2.0 data up to 480Mbps with backward operation for compatible USB 1.1/1.0 equipment. The peripheral can still require its own driver, application, class support or power supply.

Exact title, SKU, media and UGREEN Spain identify the 3m US135 variant. An inherited UGREEN India specification row says 1.5m; that conflicting row is rejected rather than blended into the exact 10351 description.

Exact-SKU evidence reconciliation

Seven of nine exact live images are used for connector identification, compatibility categories, 480Mbps, printer use, MIDI use, connector/jacket construction and daily office setup. Two absolute-comparison artworks are excluded as misleading. Exact European UGREEN records confirm SKU 10351, USB-B, 480Mbps, 3m and shielded/gold-plated construction.

02 · At a glance

Key features

01

USB 2.0 480Mbps

USB 2.0 has a 480Mbps signalling ceiling. Real file, print, scan or audio throughput is lower because of protocol overhead, peripheral speed, drivers, storage and application behaviour.

02

USB-A to USB-B

The rectangular USB-A end belongs at the host; the square Type-B end belongs at the peripheral. This host-to-device topology is not a peer-to-peer bridge between two computers.

03

3m exact SKU

US135 is a USB 2.0 A-to-B cable. USB connector shape defines physical fit; USB version and device class determine data behaviour.

04

Driver depends on device

The cable has no driver. Windows, macOS, Linux or another host OS must support the peripheral's USB class or exact manufacturer driver.

03 · Physical fit

Connectors, direction and interface clarity

01

USB-A male host end

Connect to a USB-A computer, hub or other documented USB host. It must not be connected to another USB host through improvised adapters.

02

USB 2.0 Type-B male device end

Connect to the square peripheral socket used by many printers, scanners, MIDI controllers and DACs.

03

Not USB 3.0 Type-B

The wider two-part SuperSpeed Type-B receptacle is a different connector. Confirm the exact socket shape before ordering.

04

3m passive cable

The exact 10351 length is 3m. Route with slack and without extra extension cables, unpowered hubs or crushed bends.

04 · Capability

Signal, data or power performance

USB 2.0 has a 480Mbps signalling ceiling. Real file, print, scan or audio throughput is lower because of protocol overhead, peripheral speed, drivers, storage and application behaviour.

The cable can carry data and ordinary USB bus power. Many printers and scanners still require their own AC supply; the USB lead is not a universal device charger or power cable.

USB 1.1 and 1.0 peripherals can operate at their lower negotiated speeds when the host and device remain compatible. A USB 3.x Type-A host port normally falls back to USB 2.0 for this cable.

For MIDI or USB audio, latency and channel capability come from the interface, driver and software buffer—not from a 480Mbps label alone.

UGREEN 10351 Up to 480Mbps USB 2.0 data
Up to 480Mbps USB 2.0 data. The interface ceiling is 480Mbps; printing, scanning and audio performance also depend on the peripheral and host.

05 · Complete path

What the entire connection must support

The rectangular USB-A end belongs at the host; the square Type-B end belongs at the peripheral. This host-to-device topology is not a peer-to-peer bridge between two computers.

A hub can work when it supplies a stable USB path and adequate power, but direct connection is the best diagnostic baseline. Remove long extensions and daisy chains first.

Printers and scanners may need a model-specific driver or vendor utility. MIDI and audio products may be class compliant or may need ASIO/Core Audio/vendor software.

Network printing over Wi-Fi or Ethernet is a separate connection method. This cable does not configure an IP address or make a USB-only printer into a network printer.

06 · Behaviour

Standards, negotiation and operating roles

US135 is a USB 2.0 A-to-B cable. USB connector shape defines physical fit; USB version and device class determine data behaviour.

Gold-plated contact surfaces, oxygen-free/tinned copper descriptions, foil and braid shielding and a PVC jacket are construction details. They cannot make a peripheral exceed its interface limit.

Plug and play means the cable has no driver. It does not mean every printer, scanner, MIDI or audio device works without manufacturer software on every operating system.

The cable is not USB On-The-Go and does not assign host role to a phone or tablet. A USB-C computer needs a properly specified USB-C-to-USB-B cable or host adapter instead.

Ceiling, not a promise

A connector or standard label describes capability. The complete source, destination, cable route, software and negotiated mode determine the real result.

09 · Usability

Setup and usability guidance

  1. Confirm the peripheral has the standard square USB 2.0 Type-B socket and that the 3m routed path reaches with a service loop.
  2. Install the manufacturer's current driver or utility first when its instructions require that sequence.
  3. Connect USB-B to the powered-off or idle peripheral, then connect USB-A directly to the host for initial testing.
  4. Power the printer, scanner, piano or audio interface from its required supply and allow the operating system to enumerate it.
  5. Choose the device in printer, scanner, MIDI or audio settings and perform a small test job before routing the cable permanently.
  6. Support both plugs, avoid tight bends and do not repeatedly move the device while the cable is connected.

10 · Host behaviour

Operating-system, driver and software guidance

The cable has no driver. Windows, macOS, Linux or another host OS must support the peripheral's USB class or exact manufacturer driver.

A printer can appear offline because of a paused queue, wrong default device or stale driver; a scanner can require its vendor application or permissions; MIDI/audio can require software input/output selection.

When a device is not detected, test a direct host port, remove the hub, restart the peripheral and compare with its known-good original cable before reinstalling software.

Software boundary

The passive product has no firmware or driver. Connected hosts, adapters and peripherals can still require exact-model software, permissions or settings.

11 · Verified scope

What this product does

  • Provides a 3m USB-A male to USB 2.0 Type-B male host-to-peripheral link.
  • Supports USB 2.0 signalling up to 480Mbps and compatible lower USB speeds.
  • Carries ordinary USB bus power where the peripheral uses it.
  • Works with multiple USB-B equipment categories when the device and host software are compatible.
  • Uses shielded copper construction, a PVC jacket and moulded strain relief as shown in exact media.

12 · Clear boundaries

What this product does not do

  • It is not a network/Ethernet cable and does not make a printer wireless or assign it an IP address.
  • It is not USB-C, Micro-USB, Mini-B or the wider USB 3.0 Type-B connector.
  • It must not be used to join two computers or two USB host ports.
  • It does not guarantee driver-free operation for the connected peripheral.
  • It does not supply the mains power required by most printers, scanners, amplifiers or powered audio devices.

13 · Best practice

What to do

01

Recommended

Check the exact USB-B socket, device manual, operating-system support and required driver before purchase.

02

Recommended

Use a direct host port for setup and diagnosis.

03

Recommended

Power the peripheral as its manufacturer specifies and select it in the relevant application.

04

Recommended

Route the 3m cable with slack, clean contacts and strain relief at both ends.

14 · Common mistakes

What not to do

01

Avoid

Do not trust broad brand lists without checking the exact model and port.

02

Avoid

Do not force USB-B into a USB 3.0 Type-B, Mini-B, Ethernet or other similar opening.

03

Avoid

Do not connect two hosts, use passive extension chains or expect USB networking.

04

Avoid

Do not assume 480Mbps means a printer, scanner or audio interface performs at that application rate.

15 · Read before use

Warnings and limitations

01

Warning / limitation 1

The current India specification field stating 1.5m is inconsistent with the exact 10351 title, SKU mapping, media and official UGREEN Spain 3m record. This guide uses 3m.

02

Warning / limitation 2

Large printers and audio gear often need their own power. Never substitute this data cable for the manufacturer's mains or DC supply.

03

Warning / limitation 3

A 3m passive route has less power and signal margin than a short cable. Avoid extensions and unpowered hubs for bus-powered or latency-sensitive equipment.

04

Warning / limitation 4

Keep the cable dry, avoid trip hazards and replace it if a plug becomes loose, the jacket is cut or the connection changes when the cable is moved.

16 · Diagnostics

Troubleshooting by symptom

01

Peripheral not detected

Power the device correctly, connect directly to another host port, install its driver, remove hubs and test with a known-good data cable.

02

Printer appears offline

Select the correct printer and USB port, clear paused jobs, restart the print service/device and reinstall the maker's current driver if required.

03

MIDI or audio device is silent

Select it inside the music/audio application, verify driver and permissions, choose supported sample/buffer settings and confirm the device has power.

04

Connection drops when moved

Stop using the cable until both sockets and plugs are inspected. Reduce strain, avoid sharp bends and compare with another direct cable.
