USB-C goes into the computer. This cable only works one way: plug the USB-C end into the computer or source and the HDMI end into the display.
If there is no sound, choose the display as the audio output in your computer settings.
The USB-C port must support DisplayPort Alt Mode (look for a DP or Thunderbolt symbol).
