Product overview
Overview
UGREEN 10943 is an active inline HDMI repeater intended to refresh a marginal two-cable source-to-display connection. One HDMI cable runs from the source to the repeater's marked input, and a second runs from its marked output to the receiving display. The active title lists up to 4K60, but reliable mode and distance depend on the complete cable path and endpoint capability.
Features
What it does well.
Key features
Product highlights
Active inline repeater. Format and length for planning the physical connection.
Two HDMI female ports. Product capability, subject to the complete source-to-display path.
Up to 4K60. The defining connector, protocol or construction detail for this SKU.
One clear job. Adds active signal processing between two HDMI cable segments.
No hidden upgrade. It does not split one source to two displays.
Maximum versus actual: Up to 4K at 60Hz on the active title; lower common HDMI modes depend on the complete path. The repeater can process the HDMI signal, but it cannot guarantee a fixed total run. Resolution, refresh, HDR, HDCP negotiation, audio, source voltage and both cable segments determine the working result.
Choose the right connection
Port and direction check
HDMI Type-A female input side to HDMI Type-A female output side; two separate HDMI male-to-male cables and the unit's marked INPUT/OUTPUT orientation are required
Inspect port labels and connector shapes under good light before routing. Mini HDMI, Micro HDMI, Mini DisplayPort, full-size DisplayPort, USB-C, VGA and full-size HDMI are distinct interfaces even when two connectors appear similar at a glance.
Connection rule: never force a plug and never assume an adapter works in reverse or adds a display mode, audio format or protocol that the endpoints lack.
Display modes and performance
Resolution, refresh and signal
Up to 4K at 60Hz on the active title; lower common HDMI modes depend on the complete path. The repeater can process the HDMI signal, but it cannot guarantee a fixed total run. Resolution, refresh, HDR, HDCP negotiation, audio, source voltage and both cable segments determine the working result.
A maximum resolution or refresh rate is not forced by the product. The source GPU, source port, adapter or cable, receiving input and every intermediate device must negotiate a mode they all support.
When a high mode fails, establish a stable direct connection at a conservative timing, then raise one setting at a time while checking picture, colour and audio.
Use scenarios
Where it fits
Two-cable television run. Place the repeater between a source cable and a second cable to the television, respecting its marked direction.
Projector route. Refresh a compatible extended HDMI link to a projector after testing both cable segments separately.
Meeting-room troubleshooting. Use the unit to diagnose a marginal installed HDMI path without claiming a universal distance.
AV receiver bypass test. Test source–repeater–display directly to determine whether an AV receiver is the limiting device.
Digital signage trial. Use in one tested indoor HDMI run where endpoints remain accessible and stable.
Existing cable reuse. Join two suitable male-ended HDMI cables while adding active processing rather than using a passive coupler.
Scenario boundary: every example assumes the actual source output, signal direction, receiving input, graphics hardware and operating system support the requested use.
Setup and usability guidance
A reliable first connection
Follow a controlled sequence so connector, direction, display-mode and audio faults remain easy to isolate.
After setup: record the working input, resolution, refresh and audio route before adding more adapters, joins or switching equipment.
Confirm the unit is SKU 10943 and locate INPUT and OUTPUT markings on the actual housing or manual.
Test each HDMI cable directly between source and display at the intended mode before installing the repeater.
Connect the source-side HDMI cable to the repeater INPUT.
Connect the repeater OUTPUT to the display-side HDMI cable.
Power the source and display, select the correct HDMI input and begin at a conservative mode.
Raise resolution or refresh one step at a time while checking picture and audio stability.
Support the inline unit and both plugs so cable weight does not strain either female socket.
Compatible devices and systems
Compatibility explained
Required source side.
Required display side.
System behaviour.
Important boundaries.
HDMI source output reached through one suitable male-to-male HDMI cable
The source port must provide video output, not merely share a similar connector shape
Graphics hardware and system settings must support the requested display mode
HDMI display input reached through a second suitable male-to-male HDMI cable
The selected display input must be enabled and support the chosen timing
Any separately required cable must be sound and correctly rated
No product-specific application is required for ordinary display use
Mirror and extended-desktop choices are controlled by the source operating system
Resolution, refresh, colour, HDR and audio options depend on the complete signal chain
Active signal path must follow the unit INPUT/OUTPUT markings
Not a splitter, switch, matrix, capture device or passive reversible coupler
No fixed 40m mode-specific run is guaranteed
What this product does
Supported jobs
Use SKU 10943 for these roles.
Each role stays within the product category described above; it does not imply conversion, amplification, routing or software support that is not listed.
Adds active signal processing between two HDMI cable segments.
Accepts standard HDMI Type-A male plugs at both female interfaces.
Supports a listed ceiling up to 4K60 on a compatible complete path.
Passes compatible HDMI picture and audio between one source and one display.
Can help a marginal extended run when cable quality, direction and endpoint conditions are suitable.
Provides a compact inline form without a separately shown external power connector.
What this product does not do
Important exclusions
These exclusions prevent the most common wrong-product purchases and unsafe installations.
Choose another product when needed: use the correct directional converter, splitter, switch, capture device, audio route or installation-rated cable for functions outside this model’s role.
It does not split one source to two displays.
It does not switch between several sources or act as a matrix.
It is not a direction-free passive female coupler; INPUT and OUTPUT roles matter.
It does not guarantee 40m, 4K60 or any fixed distance for every pair of cables.
It does not add unsupported HDMI features, codecs, HDCP versions, VRR or eARC to endpoints.
It does not repair damaged, poorly terminated or fundamentally unsuitable HDMI cables.
What to do
Best-practice checklist
Protect the connection and make later diagnosis straightforward.
A labelled, supported and tested connection is easier to maintain than one hidden immediately after purchase.
Identify both physical ports and confirm which device is the source before connecting anything.
Start with a conservative display mode, then raise resolution or refresh only after a stable picture is established.
Insert and remove connectors by their housings, keeping the lead free of tension and sharp bends.
Select the intended input on the monitor, television or projector after the cable path is complete.
Test the direct, shortest supported path before adding switches, wall plates, extensions or capture equipment.
Keep the product dry, ventilated and accessible enough to inspect if picture or audio changes.
What not to do
Avoid these mistakes
Most failures come from wrong interfaces, unsupported claims, strain or uncontrolled channel changes.
Stop using the product if a connector, housing, jacket or lead is cracked, loose, contaminated, unusually hot or exposes conductive parts.
Do not force a connector into a similar-looking port or use a direction opposite to the one stated for this model.
Do not pull, kink, crush, staple or allow the cable or adapter to hang by either device port.
Do not assume the maximum printed mode will work through an older source, display, cable or intermediate device.
Do not hot-plug repeatedly while diagnosing; power-cycle the source and display after reseating the path.
Do not install the product outdoors, underground or permanently inside a wall without the required published rating.
Do not continue using damaged, loose, contaminated or unusually hot connectors or housings.
Warnings and limitations
Read before installation
The following limits remain important even when the connector appears to fit.
Permanent routes: test the complete real setup first and follow local electrical, building and workplace requirements.
A printed maximum is a ceiling, not a forced mode. The source, graphics hardware, adapter or cable, receiving display and every intermediate connection must share the requested resolution and refresh rate.
Follow the physical INPUT and OUTPUT labels on the actual unit; the current product photographs do not safely identify the photographed side.
Two separately suitable HDMI cables are required and each cable segment must work at the intended mode.
No external-power connector is shown; do not inject power or connect an unapproved supply.
No outdoor, direct-burial, in-wall, plenum, LSZH or fire-resistance rating is stated for this product.

FAQs
Questions buyers ask.
Is UGREEN 10943 a passive HDMI coupler?
No. media shows an internal processing board, so it must be treated as an active directional repeater.
Which socket is the input?
Follow INPUT and OUTPUT markings on the actual unit or manual. The current gallery does not legibly identify the photographed side.
How many HDMI cables are required?
Two male-to-male HDMI cables: one from source to repeater input and one from repeater output to display.
Can it support 4K60?
The active title lists up to 4K60, but both cables and endpoints must support the same mode with adequate signal margin.
Does it guarantee a 40m run?Does it carry audio?
It can pass compatible HDMI audio, but no particular codec or channel count is guaranteed beyond source and display support.
Does it need external power?
No external-power connector is shown in the current gallery. Do not connect an unapproved supply.
Can it feed two displays?
No. It has one source-side path and one display-side path; it is not a splitter.
Can it switch between sources?
No. Use an HDMI switch or matrix designed for that job.
Will it add HDR, eARC, VRR or a newer HDCP version?
No. An inline repeater cannot add unsupported endpoint capabilities, and those features are not safely claimed here.
Why might a lower mode work when 4K60 fails?
Higher pixel rates leave less cable margin. Cable length, gauge, construction, source voltage and every join affect stability.
What is included?
One UGREEN 10943 active HDMI female-to-female repeater is listed. Two HDMI cables are required and are not listed as included.
