UGREEN 65487
An 11-in-1 data and NVMe base for Mac mini M4
UGREEN 65487 fits beneath a Mac mini M4 or M4 Pro and adds seven USB data ports, SD and TF readers, and an M.2 NVMe slot supporting capacities up to 8TB.
Product introduction
Overview
The dock is shaped for the Mac mini M4 and M4 Pro, with a power-button cutout and anti-slip surfaces. Its built-in host cable carries USB data to the computer; the dock does not add an HDMI or DisplayPort output.
Three USB-A 10Gbps, two USB-A 5Gbps and two USB-C 10Gbps ports expand data connectivity. The downstream USB-C ports are data-only and do not provide video or charging. SD and TF readers are rated up to 170MB/s with compatible cards.
The internal M.2 slot supports NVMe drives in 2230, 2242, 2260 and 2280 sizes, up to 8TB, through a 10Gbps interface. The SSD is sold separately. A 5V USB-C input can support dock-side power but does not charge the Mac mini.

Practical connection order
Setup and usability guidance
A deliberate connection order makes capability checks and troubleshooting easier.
- Shut down and disconnect the Mac mini before installing an SSD.
- Open the storage compartment according to the supplied instructions.
- Install a compatible NVMe drive with the correct mounting position and hardware.
- Close the compartment before reconnecting the dock.
- Place the Mac mini on the anti-slip top with the power-button cutout aligned.
- Connect the built-in host cable to the Mac mini.
- Add 5V auxiliary power if required for the connected load.
- Format a new SSD in Disk Utility only after confirming the correct target, then safely eject storage before disconnecting.
Host and peripheral fit
Compatible devices and systems
Connector shape alone is not enough: the host port, operating system, cable, display and peripheral must support the required function.
Mac mini M4
Designed for the standard M4 chassis and its port placement.
Mac mini M4 Pro
Designed for the matching M4 Pro chassis.
M.2 NVMe SSDs
Supports 2230, 2242, 2260 and 2280 M.2 NVMe drives up to 8TB.
Older Mac mini models
Not compatible with the different pre-M4 chassis design.
Verified function scope
What this product does

Boundaries that prevent a mismatch
What this product does not do
- It does not fit older Mac mini chassis.
- It does not include an NVMe SSD.
- It does not output video through any downstream port.
- It does not charge or power the Mac mini through USB-C.
- It does not make every attached device run at 10Gbps simultaneously.
Recommended practice
What to do
- Back up data before installing, formatting or repartitioning an SSD.
- Use the supplied SSD mounting parts and instructions.
- Keep the dock and Mac mini ventilation paths clear.
- Use auxiliary power for a demanding peripheral setup.
- Move 2.4GHz receivers away from active USB 3.x devices if needed.
Avoid common mistakes
What not to do
- Do not install or remove an SSD while the dock is connected.
- Do not force the Mac mini into a mismatched older-model stand.
- Do not connect a monitor expecting video from a data port.
- Do not format a drive without verifying its identity and backup.
- Do not cover the Mac mini or dock ventilation.
Read before use
Warnings and limitations
Check before connecting or ordering
- Confirm the computer is a Mac mini M4 or M4 Pro.
- Do not select this model for an older Mac mini chassis.
- Confirm the SSD is M.2 NVMe in a supported length, not an unsupported storage type.
- The SSD is not included and must be purchased separately.
- Do not expect HDMI, DisplayPort or USB-C video output.
- Do not expect host charging from the 5V auxiliary input.
- Plan for shared 10Gbps bandwidth across active data devices.
- Separate 2.4GHz wireless receivers from busy USB 3.x devices if interference occurs.
Warning / limitation 1
Formatting or repartitioning a drive erases data; verify the target first.
Warning / limitation 2
An SSD and dock can become warm during sustained transfers; stop use if heat is abnormal.
Warning / limitation 3
Active USB 3.x devices can interfere with nearby 2.4GHz receivers.
Warning / limitation 4
Removing a drive or power during a write can corrupt data.
Warning / limitation 5
Real performance depends on the SSD, thermal conditions, host link and simultaneous devices.

Model-specific answers
Product-specific FAQ
Which Mac mini models fit this dock?
It is designed for Mac mini M4 and Mac mini M4 Pro.
Will it fit an older Mac mini?
No. Older Mac mini enclosures use a different chassis and are not compatible.
Does it add a display output?
No. All downstream USB-C and USB-A connections are for data, not video.
Which SSD sizes are supported?
It supports M.2 NVMe drives in 2230, 2242, 2260 and 2280 lengths.
What is the maximum SSD capacity?
Official specifications state support for compatible NVMe drives up to 8TB.
Is the SSD included?
No. Purchase a compatible M.2 NVMe SSD separately.
How fast is the SSD interface?
The dock's NVMe interface is rated up to 10Gbps; real drive speed is lower and workload-dependent.
Can the USB-C data ports charge devices?
No. The downstream USB-C ports are data-only and do not provide video or charging.
What is the 5V USB-C input for?
It provides auxiliary dock-side power for connected devices and does not charge the Mac mini.
Why is my wireless mouse unstable?
USB 3.x activity can interfere with 2.4GHz receivers. Move the receiver away from active high-speed devices.
Can both card slots be used?
The dock has separate SD and TF readers; actual simultaneous speed depends on the cards and shared host link.
