Product overview

Overview

A clear view of the product before you connect it

This dock is built for mixed modern and legacy workspaces. HDMI connects a current monitor, television or projector, while VGA supports an older display. Three USB-A ports add storage and peripherals, Gigabit Ethernet provides a wired network path, and separate SD and microSD readers support common camera-media workflows.

The HDMI connection supports up to 4K at 30Hz and the VGA output supports up to 1920 × 1080 at 60Hz. Both display outputs can be connected, but the host, operating system and combined-display mode determine whether the screens mirror or extend and which common resolution is available.

The dedicated USB-C PD input accepts up to 100W from a compatible charger. It is a power input rather than a data port. Actual host charging is lower because the dock uses power and the computer accepts only its negotiated level.

TWO DISPLAY STANDARDS

Connect HDMI and VGA displays without a second adapter

The HDMI output is intended for a digital screen and supports up to 4K at 30Hz. VGA supports older displays up to 1080p at 60Hz. This combination is useful in offices, classrooms and meeting rooms where the available projector connection is not always predictable.

When HDMI and VGA are active together, the host and operating system control the display arrangement. Combined operation can require a shared lower resolution, and some systems mirror the two external outputs rather than creating independent desktops.

  • One HDMI output, not dual HDMI
  • One VGA output
  • VGA carries video only
  • USB-C host must support video output
  • Use the operating-system display panel to choose mirror or extend

DATA, NETWORK AND CARDS

Build a stable everyday workstation

Three USB-A 3.0 ports support keyboards, mice, receivers, flash drives, card readers and compatible storage. Their maximum 5Gbps figure is theoretical and all traffic shares the single upstream USB-C connection.

The RJ45 port supports Gigabit Ethernet when the host, driver, cable and network equipment all support that rate. SD and microSD slots provide convenient access to camera and mobile-device media.

  • Use Cat5e or better cable for Gigabit Ethernet
  • Actual network speed is limited by the router, service and host
  • Safely eject drives and cards
  • Do not expect all ports to sustain maximum throughput simultaneously
UGREEN 15600 connected to USB peripherals at a desk
SKU 15600: Use the three USB-A ports for compatible peripherals and storage, remembering that bandwidth and bus power are shared through the host connection.

PASS-THROUGH POWER

Use one host connection while charging the laptop

Connect a suitable USB-C PD charger to the marked power input when the laptop needs charging or several peripherals require steadier power. The dock accepts up to 100W input, but the host receives less after dock consumption and power negotiation.

A 100W-capable setup requires a charger that provides the necessary USB-C PD profile and a suitable 5A E-Marker cable. Lower-powered chargers remain limited to their own rated output.

  • PD port is charging input only
  • Charger and charging cable are not confirmed as included
  • Power Delivery does not add video support
  • Disconnect power before inspecting damaged cables or connectors

UGREEN 15600 HDMI and VGA desk with two external screens
SKU 15600: Both physical display outputs can be connected, but mirror, extend and common-resolution behaviour depend on the host GPU, operating system and active combination.

Guided connection

Setup and usability guidance

Add one connection at a time and confirm each function

  1. Verify that the selected host USB-C port supports data and, if needed, video output and USB-C charging.
  2. Connect the dock directly to the host without an unverified USB-C extension.
  3. Connect a suitable PD charger to the dedicated power input if host charging or higher peripheral power is required.
  4. Connect HDMI or VGA and select the matching input on the display. Configure mirror or extend mode in the operating system.
  5. Connect Ethernet and wait for the link indicator or operating-system network status to appear.
  6. Add USB devices and memory cards individually, then test simultaneous use after each item works by itself.
  7. Safely eject storage and cards before unplugging the dock.

SKU 15600: The short attached lead makes the dock portable, but it should rest on the desk so its weight and connected cables do not strain the host port.

Good practice

Do and avoid

What to do

  • Use a compliant USB-C PD charger and correctly rated charging cable.
  • Use a suitable HDMI cable for 4K30 and a sound VGA cable for legacy display use.
  • Use Cat5e or better Ethernet cabling for Gigabit operation.
  • Keep the dock open to airflow during display, network and charging use.
  • Update operating-system, graphics and network drivers when functions are not detected.
  • Troubleshoot with one display and one peripheral before adding the full desk setup.

What not to do

  • Do not treat the USB-C PD input as a data port.
  • Do not expect VGA to carry sound or 4K video.
  • Do not unplug storage or cards during a file write.
  • Do not force 4K60 or an unsupported multi-monitor arrangement.
  • Do not connect damaged cables, loose plugs or wet equipment.
  • Do not cover the aluminium body while it is handling charging and multiple active ports.

Safe operation

Warnings and limitations

Safety note 1

Use the CM498/15600 port labels as the definitive connection guide: one HDMI, one VGA, three USB-A data ports, Gigabit Ethernet, SD, microSD and PD input.

Safety note 2

HDMI and VGA used together can lower the available resolution or mirror content depending on the host. Confirm the required display arrangement before relying on two external screens.

Safety note 3

High-power drives, several USB accessories and charging draw from the available host and PD power budget. Reduce devices if connections reset.

Safety note 4

Mild warmth is normal under sustained load. Stop use if there is unusual heat, smell, noise, port damage or cable damage.

Safety note 5

A wired link does not guarantee internet speed; results depend on the router, switch, cable, network service and host software.
