UGREEN DV101 11604 Dual-Link DVI-D Cable, 2m
A passive digital-video cable with 24+1 male connectors, screw locks, shielding and a ferrite core—built for a direct DVI source-to-display path, not conversion.
01 · Product introduction
Overview
UGREEN DV101 11604 Dual-Link DVI-D Cable, 2m connects a digital DVI output to a compatible DVI display input over 2m. Its full 24+1 pin population is the dual-link DVI-D layout, intended to carry digital video only.
The cable is passive and male-to-male. It does not contain a scaler, active converter, graphics adapter, audio extractor or signal repeater. The source graphics hardware, display and any adapter in the path determine the usable resolution and refresh rate.
Exact live artwork and primary UGREEN family records agree on the connector layout, shielding, ferrite core and listed 2560×1600 at 60Hz ceiling. Closely related single-link, DVI-I, HDMI-to-DVI and DisplayPort-to-DVI products are not interchangeable.
Exact-SKU evidence reconciliation
All seven exact live images are useful and mutually consistent: product view, shielded construction, connector identification, compatible DVI port families, 2560×1600@60Hz ceiling, ferrite/connector construction and a desktop-display use case. No live image was excluded. The 2560×1600@60Hz statement is a complete-chain ceiling, not a promise for every graphics card, monitor, timing or adapter.

04 · Capability
Signal, data or power performance
UGREEN lists digital video up to 2560×1600 at 60Hz for the exact DV101 family when both the source and display support dual-link DVI at that timing.
Lower modes such as 1920×1080 normally require less link capacity, but the usable mode list comes from the source GPU, display EDID, driver and operating-system settings. A connector that looks compatible does not guarantee every timing.
DVI-D on this cable carries no analogue VGA signal and no audio. Sound needs a separate cable or another interface selected on the source and audio equipment.
The 2m run is passive. Use only the length needed, leave connector clearance and avoid adding unnecessary couplers that reduce signal margin.
05 · Complete path
What the entire connection must support
Confirm a digital DVI source, a digital DVI display input and dual-link capability at both ends when planning 2560×1600. A single-link port or adapter can reduce the available pixel clock.
A DVI-I socket can accept the plug mechanically and use its digital contacts when the device supports digital DVI. A passive DVI-to-VGA adapter cannot extract analogue video from this DVI-D cable.
KVM switches, couplers and active converters add their own mode, EDID and HDCP limits. Troubleshoot with one direct cable before reintroducing intermediate equipment.
If protected video is required, HDCP support must exist in the source, display and every active device. The passive cable does not create or decode HDCP.
06 · Behaviour
Standards, negotiation and operating roles
Dual-link DVI-D 24+1 uses two digital TMDS link groups. The extra central pins distinguish it from single-link DVI-D 18+1; the four analogue pins around the blade belong to DVI-I and are not present here.
The cable can carry a valid digital signal in either physical direction because both ends are equivalent, but the connected devices still have source and display roles. It cannot turn two outputs into a working connection or make a display output behave as an input.
Gold-plated contact surfaces, layered shielding, 28AWG oxygen-free-copper listing data, an approximately 8.5mm cable diameter and the ferrite core describe construction—not guaranteed picture improvement beyond a valid digital link.
No driver belongs to the cable. Graphics drivers, EDID negotiation, operating-system display settings and the display's input selection control the result.
Ceiling, not a promise
A connector or standard label describes capability. The complete source, destination, cable route, software and negotiated mode determine the real result.

09 · Usability
Setup and usability guidance
- Power down or stop active display output before making the connection, especially around tightly packed graphics-card ports.
- Inspect both ports and confirm the 24+1 digital layout; do not force the plug into a connector with a blocked or different pin pattern.
- Align the flat blade and pin field, push the plug straight in until fully seated, then hand-tighten the two screws evenly.
- Select the DVI input on the display, start with a conservative supported mode and then choose the desired resolution and refresh rate in the operating system.
- Route audio separately and secure the cable so its weight does not lever the connector. Keep the ferrite body from pressing against adjacent plugs.
- To remove it, loosen both screws completely, grip the connector shell and pull straight out. Never twist or pull on the cable jacket.
10 · Host behaviour
Operating-system, driver and software guidance
The cable needs no driver, firmware or application. The graphics adapter and monitor can still require current drivers or firmware for reliable EDID and timing selection.
Mirror and extended-desktop modes are operating-system features. If the display is detected but blank, choose a resolution and refresh rate explicitly supported by the monitor before diagnosing the cable.
DVI carries picture only in this product. Select the computer's analogue, USB, HDMI/DisplayPort or dedicated audio path separately; a silent display does not by itself indicate a video-cable fault.
Software boundary
The passive product has no firmware or driver. Connected hosts, adapters and peripherals can still require exact-model software, permissions or settings.
11 · Verified scope
What this product does
- Provides one 2m passive DVI-D 24+1 male-to-male digital-video link.
- Supports the exact-family listed ceiling of 2560×1600 at 60Hz when the complete chain supports it.
- Uses screw locks for retention and layered shielding plus a ferrite core for interference control.
- Fits digital DVI-D ports and suitable DVI-I ports for their digital signal contacts.
- Carries the source's valid digital display signal without scaling or converting it.
12 · Clear boundaries
What this product does not do
- It does not carry analogue VGA/DVI-A, even if a DVI-I socket elsewhere in the installation contains analogue pins.
- It does not carry audio, Ethernet, USB data or device power.
- It is not HDMI, DisplayPort, Mini DisplayPort or USB-C, and it does not convert between those standards.
- It does not create dual-link capability, a higher refresh rate, HDCP support or a mode absent from either endpoint.
- It is not a repeater or active optical cable; additional adapters and long chains can reduce signal margin.

Product-specific FAQ
What exact connector layout does this cable use?
DVI-D dual-link 24+1 male at both ends: twenty-four digital pin positions plus the flat blade, without the four analogue pins found on DVI-I.
Can it carry 2560×1600 at 60Hz?
That is the exact-family listed ceiling when source, display and any intermediate device all support dual-link DVI at the same timing. It is not guaranteed on a single-link port.
Does it carry sound?
No. This cable carries digital video only. Use a separate audio connection and select that output in the source operating system or player.
Will it work in a DVI-I port?
It can fit a compatible DVI-I socket and use its digital contacts. It will not use or carry the socket's analogue pins, so passive VGA extraction is not available.
Is this the same as a single-link DVI cable?
No. Dual-link 24+1 has a complete central pin field, while single-link DVI-D 18+1 has a gap. Both devices must expose the required dual-link contacts for the higher listed mode.
Can I connect it to HDMI, DisplayPort or USB-C?
Not directly. A correctly directed adapter may be possible, but that adapter—not this cable—sets conversion, audio, mode and HDCP limits.
Does the ferrite core mean the cable is directional?
No. The ferrite element suppresses high-frequency interference and does not define source or display ends. Both DVI plugs are electrically equivalent.
Does the cable need a driver?
No. The graphics device and monitor may need drivers or firmware, but the passive cable has no software, chipset or update process.
Why is the screen detected but blank?
The selected timing may exceed the monitor, GPU, adapter or link. Start with a known-safe mode, verify the display input and remove intermediate devices.
How should the screws be used?
Seat the connector straight first, then finger-tighten both screws evenly. Loosen both fully before removal; tools and overtightening can damage the port.
What is included?
One UGREEN DV101 11604 2m DVI-D cable. Audio cables, converters, graphics adapters, monitors and mounting hardware are not included.
