Product overview

Overview

A clear view of the product before you connect it

This model combines the core connections of a mobile workstation in one compact aluminium dock. It provides one HDMI display output, four high-speed USB data connections across USB-C and USB-A, wired Ethernet, two memory-card formats and a dedicated charging input.

The HDMI port supports up to 4K at 60Hz when the host USB-C port, operating system, HDMI cable and display all support that mode. The data ports are listed up to 5Gbps theoretical and the RJ45 network port up to 1000Mbps. Actual performance is limited by the host and connected equipment.

A compatible 100W PD input can provide up to about 85W to the host with current exact-SKU artwork stating up to 85W output to the host. The host accepts only its supported power level, and the charger and cable must provide the required profile.

Reaching 4K60 requires an end-to-end compatible path: the host USB-C port must output DisplayPort video, the operating system and GPU must expose the mode, and the HDMI cable and display must support it.

  • One HDMI display
  • Up to 3840 × 2160 at 60Hz
  • Mirror or extend where supported
  • Compatible HDMI audio
  • No second video output

USB-C AND USB-A DATA

Use four peripherals without choosing one connector generation

Two USB-C and two USB-A data ports support compatible flash drives, SSDs, hard-drive enclosures, card readers, keyboards, mice, printers and other accessories. Each can negotiate up to a 5Gbps theoretical link with compatible equipment.

All active devices share the host connection's bandwidth and available power. Simultaneous transfers do not each receive a separate 5Gbps channel, and high-power storage can require PD power to remain stable.

  • Two USB-C data ports
  • Two USB-A data ports
  • Up to 5Gbps theoretical
  • Shared upstream bandwidth
  • Safely eject storage

NETWORK, CARDS AND CHARGING

Keep a desk connected without relying on Wi-Fi

Gigabit Ethernet provides a wired link for conferencing, file access and managed networks. The SD and microSD slots simplify camera-media transfer, while the PD input can keep a compatible host charged during the same workflow.

A 100W input can provide up to approximately 85W to the laptop according to the exact-SKU artwork; remaining input supports dock operation and conversion overhead. Network and charging results still depend on the router, cable, charger and host.

  • 10/100/1000Mbps Ethernet
  • SD and TF/microSD readers
  • Up to 100W PD input
  • About 85W maximum host charging

Important limitations

Check before buying

Check these points before ordering or connecting:

  • The host USB-C port must support USB data; HDMI also requires DisplayPort Alt Mode, USB4 display output or compatible Thunderbolt video.
  • 4K60 requires compatible host graphics, USB-C video bandwidth, operating system, HDMI cable and display.
  • This model provides one external display through HDMI, not a dual-monitor dock.
  • The two downstream USB-C ports are data connections and are not listed as display outputs or high-wattage charging outputs.
  • The 100W figure is maximum PD input; about 85W maximum is stated for the host and actual delivery can be lower.
  • All USB devices share the upstream bandwidth and power budget.
  • Gigabit Ethernet needs a compatible host, cable, router or switch and network service.
  • A PD charger, charging cable, HDMI cable and Ethernet cable are not confirmed as included.

Function boundaries

What it can—and cannot—do

What this product does

  • Adds one HDMI output up to 4K60 to a compatible USB-C video host.
  • Adds two USB-C and two USB-A data ports up to 5Gbps theoretical.
  • Adds a wired Ethernet connection up to 1000Mbps.
  • Reads compatible SD and microSD cards.
  • Accepts up to 100W PD input and provides up to about 85W stated host charging.

What this product does not do

  • It does not make a data-only USB-C port output HDMI.
  • It does not provide a second display output or triple-display function.
  • It does not make the downstream USB-C data ports video or 100W charging ports.
  • It does not guarantee 5Gbps on every simultaneous transfer.
  • It does not guarantee 1000Mbps internet or 85W charging in every setup.
  • It does not include VGA, DisplayPort or a dedicated 3.5mm audio connector.

Guided connection

Setup and usability guidance

Build the workstation in a stable order

  1. Verify the selected host port supports the display, data and charging functions required for the setup.
  2. Connect the attached USB-C host lead directly to the laptop or tablet.
  3. Connect a compatible PD charger and cable to the dedicated input when charging or higher peripheral power is required.
  4. Connect HDMI, select the correct input and choose mirror or extended desktop in system settings.
  5. Connect Ethernet and confirm a wired network link before disabling Wi-Fi if desired.
  6. Add USB devices and cards one at a time, checking power and detection after each connection.
  7. Safely eject storage and memory cards before disconnecting them or the dock.

Good practice

Do and avoid

What to do

  • Use a suitable HDMI cable for 4K60 and Cat5e or better cable for Gigabit Ethernet.
  • Use a compliant PD charger and rated USB-C cable.
  • Keep the aluminium housing uncovered and on a firm surface.
  • Use safe-eject for drives and cards.
  • Update graphics, USB and network drivers when hardware is not detected.
  • Test one function at a time before connecting the complete workstation.

What not to do

  • Do not use a downstream USB-C data port as the PD charger input.
  • Do not assume every USB-C connector supports video or charging.
  • Do not interrupt card or drive writes by removing the dock.
  • Do not connect damaged or liquid-exposed cables and peripherals.
  • Do not cover the dock with fabric while HDMI, network and charging are active.
  • Do not expect multiple devices to each sustain their independent maximum speed.

Safe operation

Warnings and limitations

Safety note 1

Mild warmth is normal when high-speed data, HDMI and PD charging operate together. Stop use if heat, smell, noise or physical damage is abnormal.

Safety note 2

Power-hungry peripherals can exceed the available bus power. Connect suitable PD power, reduce devices or use independently powered storage.

Safety note 3

A network link can be 1Gbps while internet speed remains lower because the service, router and remote server set their own limits.

Safety note 4

A 4K60 blank screen commonly indicates host video capability, cable bandwidth, display input or unsupported system settings.

Safety note 5

Removing power during a write operation can corrupt files on connected storage or memory cards.
