Key features
02 · At a glance
2.4 + 5 + 6GHz. AXE5400 is a rounded class label combining separate theoretical ceilings: up to 574Mbps at 2.4GHz, 2402Mbps at 5GHz and 2402Mbps at 6GHz. One client connection does not add all three bands together.
574 + 2402 + 2402Mbps. Before purchase, verify the Indian carton and product label show CM787 / 75917 and AXE5400 or Wi-Fi 6E, because another current regional product reuses the identifiers for AX3000.
Wi-Fi 6E. Indian product class: Wi-Fi 6E / AXE5400 with 802.11ax operation across 2.4GHz, 5GHz and eligible 6GHz spectrum.
WPA3-SAE. India media limits operating-system compatibility to Windows 10 and Windows 11.
Every interface and indicator explained
03 · Connector clarity
Detachable device-side USB data socket.
Supplied USB host data cable.
2 × adjustable external antennas. Angle the antennas for stable reception and keep them clear of metal obstructions; the design is high-gain but cannot overcome every wall or interference source.
Status indicator. Shows adapter/connection activity according to the installed software; it is not an signal or speed meter.
No RJ45 socket. This is a wireless adapter, not an Ethernet adapter or router.
Link-rate ceilings and real throughput
04 · Performance planning
AXE5400 is a rounded class label combining separate theoretical ceilings: up to 574Mbps at 2.4GHz, 2402Mbps at 5GHz and 2402Mbps at 6GHz. One client connection does not add all three bands together.
6GHz can provide cleaner spectrum and more wide-channel opportunities at short range, but it generally penetrates walls less effectively and requires a Wi-Fi 6E access point.
Real throughput is lower than the negotiated wireless rate because of protocol overhead, shared airtime, channel width, interference, distance, router capability and the remote service.
The supplied USB 3 path is necessary to avoid a USB 2.0 bottleneck at the higher wireless link classes.
The adapter can improve the computer's radio link; it cannot increase the broadband plan, router backhaul or remote server speed.
What the host, cable or radio route must support
05 · Complete path
Before purchase, verify the Indian carton and product label show CM787 / 75917 and AXE5400 or Wi-Fi 6E, because another current regional product reuses the identifiers for AX3000.
Use Windows 11, a Wi-Fi 6E router/access point and a country configuration that permits 6GHz to use the 6GHz band.
Windows 10 is listed for the adapter, but do not assume that means 6GHz operation; use the documented 2.4GHz/5GHz paths and current driver.
Install the software/driver package before expecting the adapter to appear, especially when the installer is presented through onboard or bundled storage.
Place the antenna base on an open desk using the supplied data cable rather than trapping it behind a metal PC enclosure.
Standards, negotiation and operating roles
06 · Network behaviour
Indian product class: Wi-Fi 6E / AXE5400 with 802.11ax operation across 2.4GHz, 5GHz and eligible 6GHz spectrum.
Backward network compatibility depends on the driver and access point; the higher Wi-Fi 6/6E features appear only when both ends support them.
Material lists WPA3-SAE security. Use WPA3 on 6GHz and prefer WPA3 or WPA2 on other bands according to router compatibility.
The India product title lists Soft AP mode. Treat availability as driver/Windows dependent and do not promise a 6GHz hotspot.
The adapter is a client radio interface, not a wireless router, mesh node or stand-alone range extender.
Ceiling, not a promise
A port, radio or USB label is a signalling ceiling. Real performance depends on the complete path, protocol overhead, local conditions and the devices at both ends.
Compatible devices and systems
07 · Device fit
Windows 11. The preferred exact-supported system, required for ordinary 6GHz Wi-Fi 6E client use together with compatible router and regional settings.
Windows 10. Listed in India media for adapter operation, principally on supported 2.4GHz/5GHz networks with the driver.
macOS.
Linux.
Desktop and laptop PCs. Require a compatible USB-A host connection through the supplied data cable and enough physical space for the antenna base.
Use scenarios
08 · Practical value
Windows 11 Wi-Fi 6E desktop. Add an eligible 6GHz client path without installing an internal PCIe card.
Positionable desktop antenna. Move the antenna base away from a metal tower and toward the access point using the supplied cable.
Congested office or apartment radio space. Use 5GHz or eligible 6GHz when a compatible router offers a cleaner channel than 2.4GHz.
Windows 10 dual-band upgrade. Use supported 2.4GHz/5GHz operation without representing Windows 10 as a guaranteed 6GHz platform.
Setup and usability guidance
09 · Usability
Check the carton and underside label for CM787 / 75917 and AXE5400 or Wi-Fi 6E before installing.
Obtain the Indian driver/software package and follow its Windows installation instructions.
Connect the supplied USB 3 host data cable directly between the computer and antenna base; do not substitute a charging-only lead.
Place the base upright on an open surface, then adjust both antennas without forcing their hinges.
In Windows Wi-Fi settings, select the intended SSID; use Windows 11 plus a compatible 6GHz network for Wi-Fi 6E.
Confirm WPA3/WPA2 settings, obtain an IP address and test near the router before evaluating the final desk position.
Driver and operating-system guidance
10 · Software
India media limits operating-system compatibility to Windows 10 and Windows 11.
The adapter requires its driver/software environment; do not advertise unconditional driver-free operation.
6GHz Wi-Fi 6E client operation requires Windows 11 support in addition to a compatible access point and permitted regional spectrum.
Windows 10 listing does not establish 6GHz support; describe it as supported adapter operation on compatible 2.4GHz/5GHz networks.
Do not use the current China CM787/75917 AX3000 package or driver description as proof that the Indian AXE5400 radio has identical regional firmware.
Driver discipline
Match this SKU, chipset, operating-system version and CPU architecture. A driver for a similar enclosure can be incompatible with the hardware inside.

14 · Common mistakes
Avoid.
Avoid. Do not promise 6GHz on Windows 10, macOS or Linux.
Avoid. Do not add 574, 2402 and 2402Mbps as one simultaneous transfer.
Avoid. Do not connect a charger to the adapter's device-side USB data socket.
Avoid. Do not bend the antennas beyond their intended movement or cover the base during sustained use.
Warnings and limitations
15 · Read before use
Warning / limitation 1. 6GHz availability depends on national regulation, Windows 11, access-point support and the network configuration.
Warning / limitation 2. Wireless performance varies with distance, building materials, interference, channel width and router design.
Warning / limitation 3. A Soft AP shares the computer's network and can create a security exposure; use a strong password and follow workplace policy.
Warning / limitation 4. Stop use if the cable, connector or antenna hinge is damaged or the enclosure becomes abnormally hot.
Warning / limitation 5. Regional identifier reuse is a purchasing risk: verify the physical AXE5400/Wi-Fi 6E label before relying on tri-band claims.
Troubleshooting by symptom
16 · Diagnostics
6GHz SSID is missing. Verify Windows 11, Wi-Fi 6E router mode, permitted regional settings, current driver and adequate proximity to the access point.
Adapter is not detected. Reconnect the supplied USB 3 cable, try a direct USB-A port and install the Indian CM787 software.
Connection falls back to 5GHz or 2.4GHz. Check signal, router band steering, 6GHz security and OS support; band choice is negotiated, not forced by the AXE5400 label.
Speed is below the link class. Separate PHY rate from application throughput, then verify USB 3, channel width, router capability, distance and service limits.
Software identifies AX3000 instead of AXE5400. Stop and verify the physical carton, label, regional hardware and downloaded package before applying any firmware or driver.
