A newly installed SSD may need to be initialised, partitioned and formatted through the operating system before it appears as an available drive. Formatting can erase existing data.
Compatible M.2 NVMe SSD Types
The enclosure accepts supported M-Key and B+M-Key NVMe SSDs in the four commonly used M.2 lengths.
HDMI 2.0 Output up to 4K at 60Hz
Connect a compatible monitor, television or projector for a larger workspace, presentations, video playback or creative applications. HDMI 2.0 supports output up to 3840 × 2160 at 60Hz when the entire connection supports that mode.
- The host USB-C port must support DisplayPort Alternate Mode or compatible video output
- The HDMI cable and display must support the selected resolution and refresh rate
- The computer’s graphics hardware must support the requested display mode
- Protected content, HDR and colour formats remain dependent on the complete equipment chain
USB-C connector shape alone does not guarantee video output. This is a hardware-based USB-C DisplayPort Alt Mode dock and does not add video capability to a data-only USB-C port.

The dock’s Ethernet, USB, card-reader and NVMe functions share the available upstream USB-C bandwidth. Heavy simultaneous use can reduce the speed available to each connection.
100W USB-C PD Input with up to 85W Host Charging
Connect a compatible USB-C Power Delivery charger to the dedicated PD input to power the dock and charge the connected laptop while other hub functions remain available.

Add a 10/100/1000Mbps wired network connection for office networks, downloads, cloud access, video calls and other compatible network applications.
1000Mbps is the maximum negotiated network-link rate, not guaranteed internet speed. A Gigabit network and Cat5e or higher cable are required.
SD 3.0 Card Reader
Access photographs, video clips and other files from compatible full-size SD cards at advertised transfer rates up to 170MB/s.
TF/microSD 3.0 Reader
Read compatible microSD cards used in cameras, drones, action cameras and other devices without carrying a separate reader.

Before Installing an NVMe SSD
Remove host power and connected cables before opening the SSD compartment.
Use a compatible M-Key or B+M-Key NVMe SSD—not an M.2 SATA drive.
Fit the SSD and thermal components according to the supplied installation instructions.
Use the operating system’s disk utility to initialise and format a new blank SSD.
Back up important data before changing partitions or formatting. SSDs can become warm during sustained transfers; allow ventilation around the dock and avoid covering its cooling surfaces.

Frequently Asked Questions
Is an SSD included?
No. The product includes an integrated SSD enclosure, but the M.2 NVMe SSD must be purchased separately.
Does the enclosure support M.2 SATA SSDs?
No. It supports compatible M.2 NVMe/PCIe SSDs only. M.2 SATA drives are not supported, even if the physical connector appears to fit.
Which NVMe SSD sizes are compatible?
The enclosure supports compatible 2230, 2242, 2260 and 2280 M.2 NVMe SSDs with M-Key or NVMe B+M-Key connectors.
Why does my new SSD not appear on the computer?
A new blank SSD commonly needs to be initialised, partitioned and formatted using Windows Disk Management, macOS Disk Utility or an equivalent operating-system tool.
Does the HDMI port support 4K at 60Hz?
Yes, up to 4K at 60Hz is supported when the host USB-C port provides compatible video output and the graphics hardware, HDMI cable and display all support that mode.
Will HDMI work through every USB-C port?
No. The host USB-C port must support DisplayPort Alternate Mode or another compatible video-output function. A data-only or charging-only USB-C port cannot provide HDMI output through the dock.
Does 100W PD mean the laptop receives 100W?
No. The PD port accepts up to 100W input, while the current product artwork specifies up to approximately 85W output to the host. The remaining power is reserved for the dock and connected devices.
Is a 100W charger included?
No. A compatible USB-C PD charger and charging cable must be purchased or supplied separately.
Can the 10Gbps USB-C data port charge my laptop or connect a monitor?
No. The front 10Gbps USB-C port is intended for data. Use the dedicated HDMI port for a display and the dedicated USB-C PD input for charger connection.
Does each 10Gbps connection receive a dedicated 10Gbps?
No. The SSD enclosure, USB data ports, card readers and Ethernet connection share the available bandwidth of the host USB-C connection. Simultaneous use can reduce individual transfer speeds.
Does it support Gigabit Ethernet?
Yes. The RJ45 port supports 10/100/1000Mbps link modes. Actual internet speed depends on the network equipment, Ethernet cable, broadband plan, host and network traffic.
Is it normal for the dock or SSD cover to become warm?
Some warmth is normal during sustained SSD transfers, charging or simultaneous port use. Keep the ventilation and finned surfaces uncovered and operate the dock in a well-ventilated area.
