Features
What it does well.
Key features
Cat 8 performance ceiling. UGREEN states up to 40Gbps and 2000MHz. The figure describes cable capability with compatible equipment, not guaranteed internet or file-transfer speed.
F/FTP construction. F/FTP means foil around the full cable bundle and foil around each twisted pair. It is shielded, but not immune to every interference source.
30AWG pure copper. The construction uses 30AWG 100% pure-copper conductors; conductor claims are kept tied to this SKU or documented series.
2 m reach. The fixed 2 m length is a selection detail, not an estimate. Plan the route before ordering and leave gentle slack at both ports.
Category, shielding and physical build
The Cat 8 rating is listed at up to 40Gbps and 2000MHz. Treat those figures as the cable ceiling documented by UGREEN. The router, switch, network adapter, storage, other cable segments and service all have to support the intended mode.
F/FTP means foil around the full cable bundle and foil around each twisted pair. It is shielded, but not immune to every interference source.
The physical profile matters independently of the category number. This product is round braided cable with a listed 7.0–7.4mm diameter; connector protection, bend behaviour and space behind equipment can differ from flat, thick, unbraided or differently shielded cables.
Read F/FTP correctly. Foil is documented around the overall cable bundle and around the individual twisted pairs. That is different from U/UTP and U/FTP; the letters should not be treated as interchangeable marketing terms.
Use scenarios
Router, switch or wall outlet. Bridge two nearby RJ45 points across the measured 2 m route, while keeping a small service loop at the equipment.
Desktop and workstation. Connect a desktop PC, Ethernet-equipped laptop, compatible dock, network printer or local workstation to wired network equipment.
TV and console. Use with a smart TV, streaming box, PlayStation, Xbox or other entertainment device that has a standard RJ45 LAN port.
NAS and local transfers. Link compatible NAS, server, access point or other RJ45 equipment; the effective rate still depends on ports, storage, protocols and the rest of the path.
Setup and usability guidance
Measure the real path: follow furniture and corners, allow a service loop and confirm the 2 m cable will reach without tension.
Check both endpoints: each side needs a standard RJ45 Ethernet socket, or a separately purchased Ethernet adapter that supports the intended link.
Route gently: use broad curves, keep the cable away from sharp edges and avoid pinch points, chair wheels, doors, staples and tight cable ties.
Seat each plug straight: align the latch, push until the connector is fully seated and avoid sideways load on the socket.
Verify the link: check device or switch indicators, then confirm the negotiated network rate before measuring real transfers.
Test in stages: when a problem appears, bypass couplers, wall cabling and extra switches so the cable can be tested between known-good ports.
Compatible devices and systems
Compatibility is based on standard RJ45 Ethernet hardware rather than a particular operating-system brand.
Network equipment. Routers, broadband gateways with LAN ports, Ethernet switches, patch panels, wall outlets and compatible wireless access points.
Computers and storage. Desktop PCs, servers, NAS units and laptops with RJ45, plus suitable USB/USB-C Ethernet adapters or docks purchased separately.
Entertainment equipment. Smart TVs, media players, PlayStation and Xbox consoles that provide a standard RJ45 network port.
Software and drivers. The passive cable needs no driver. The computer, console, adapter or dock uses its own Ethernet hardware, operating-system support and network settings.
What this product does
Creates one passive RJ45-to-RJ45 wired Ethernet path over the 2 m cable length.
Provides the documented Cat 8 cable ceiling of up to 40Gbps and 2000MHz when the complete link supports it.
Uses F/FTP construction, 30AWG 100% pure-copper conductors and gold-plated RJ45 male connectors.
Works without a separate power supply, cable driver or account sign-in.
Lets compatible devices use their existing Ethernet networking functions through a physical cable path.
What this product does not do
It does not create internet service, Wi-Fi coverage, IP addresses or routing, and it does not replace a modem, router, switch or network adapter.
It does not plug directly into USB-A, USB-C, HDMI, DisplayPort or the smaller telephone-style RJ11 socket.
It does not make slower ports, storage, processors, switches, wall cabling or an internet plan operate at the cable’s maximum rating.
It does not guarantee a particular gaming latency, download rate, streaming resolution or file-copy result.
It is not described here as proof of PoE class, outdoor exposure, direct burial, plenum, riser or other in-wall installation approval.
What to do
Match SKU. Choose 85370 only when the documented 2 m, Cat 8, F/FTP and round braided build match the intended route.
Match the complete network. Check the link rating of both ports, every intermediate switch or adapter, and any wall cabling before expecting the listed 40Gbps ceiling.
Leave a service loop. Keep gentle slack near each device so moving equipment does not pull the locking tab or place leverage on an RJ45 socket.
Test locally first. Check negotiated link rate and a local device-to-device transfer before using an internet speed test to judge the cable.
What not to do
Do not force a connector. RJ45 is wider than RJ11 and unrelated to USB. Stop if the plug does not align and inspect the socket instead of applying pressure.
Do not crush or sharply fold. Avoid tight bends, furniture legs, closed doors, chair wheels, staples and overtightened ties that can deform pairs or damage the jacket.
Do not pull on the cable body. Press the latch and hold the moulded plug when disconnecting. Pulling the cable or twisting the socket can damage both cable and equipment.
Do not assume installation ratings. Category and shielding labels alone do not establish PoE current, outdoor, wet-location or concealed-building approval. Verify those requirements separately.
Warnings and limitations
End-to-end limit: 40Gbps is a cable maximum; the slowest port, adapter, switch, wall link, device, storage or service controls the result.
Shielding: F/FTP means foil around the full cable bundle and foil around each twisted pair. It is shielded, but not immune to every interference source.
Environment and power: Keep connectors dry. No PoE class, outdoor rating or in-wall fire class is established here; verify the installation separately.
Damage: replace a cable with a cracked plug, unreliable latch, crushed jacket or exposed internal material.
Selection guidance
Reach. Choose 2 m only if it covers corners with gentle bends and a small service loop.
Physical profile. This is a round braided cable with a listed 7.0–7.4mm diameter. Check space, bend path and cable-management channels.
Shielding code. F/FTP is documented. Do not substitute another shielding format based only on category.
Network ceiling. Choose 40Gbps/2000MHz only when the complete network can use it.
This NW343 cable is a round braided Cat 8 F/FTP model. Its 40Gbps and 2000MHz figures are cable ratings, not a promise that a slower port or internet plan will change speed.
Performance and troubleshooting
No link. Reseat both ends, check port indicators and test known-good ports with a known-good cable.
Lower negotiated rate. Check both ports, switches, adapters, wall links and couplers; one slower segment limits the link.
Connection drops. Remove pressure and tight bends, inspect both latches, then test a direct route away from strong electrical noise.
Internet remains slow. Compare a local transfer with an internet test. The ISP, remote server, congestion or device may be the limit.
One route fails. Bypass the wall jack, patch panel, coupler and extra switch one at a time to isolate the failing segment.
model check before ordering
Match SKU 85370, 2 m, Cat 8, F/FTP, 30AWG pure copper and the round braided build to the intended RJ45 route. The listed 40Gbps/2000MHz ceiling applies only when the entire wired path and both endpoints support the intended mode.
